Being a community-oriented organization, I can see firsthand the impact they have on people I know. Furthermore, whereas other charities help people through a problem, HVCC goes further and emphasizes preventing the problem from occurring altogether. It is in part that I can see the results and that I know that the problem is getting treated---not just a band-aid getting slapped on it---that I have and will continue to help my community through supporting the Huron Valley Community Coalition.

I think one the most important things anyone can do as an adult is to encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle. I believe the Coalition's work changes lives for the better and I am so proud to be part of the group!

I am a member of the coalition because I care about civic responsibility and about creating positive models for youth in our community. Doing positive things to help youth makes me happy and more healthy and it does the same for the community. Drug and alcohol abuse is usually a symptom of a bigger problem that positivity can address so that youth don't opt for that first use that could lead them down the negative path.
